Welcome to Behavioral Vision
Meet the Doctors
Carrie Sypherd, OD
Dr. Carrie Sypherd graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree. She is an honors graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and an associate member of the College of Vision Development.
Dr. Sypherd believes that the vision system directs the mind-body process and treats patients according to that model. She primarily treats patients with traumatic brain injuries, developmental delays, educational difficulties and autism spectrum disorders. She practices in Crystal Lake, Wheaton and Bartlett Illinois and consults at MarianJoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois.
In addition to treating patients in Illinois, Dr. Sypherd participates in an annual eye care mission trip to provide care to patients who do not have access to eye doctors. She and other optometrists perform free evaluations and provide glasses that are donated by local Lions Clubs.
Dr. Sypherd enjoys public speaking and has presented to medical doctors, optometrists, therapists, educators and parents on topics ranging from vision deficits following brain injury to visual efficiency in the classroom to training the vision system to be integrated with the other senses.
Vision is much more than 20/20.
In today's world your child's problems can be easily overlooked by the educational institutions that have become over burdened with large class sizes and demanding curricula. It is up to us as parents to be the "court of last resort" and helping to discover and correct those problems that may affect your child's entire life.
